Restrictions Exemption Program (REP)

Activities Procedure - Effective November 9, 2021

The following procedure is in place due to Post-Secondary Institutions (PSI’s) recently becoming eligible to implement the Restrictions Exemption Program (REP)  for In-Scope activities. One In-Scope activity is private social events. Therefore the following outlines how these events will be handled at Burman: 

PROGRAM DETAILS

  1. Face masks are required in all indoor public spaces including the REP designated space.
  2. Individuals who have COVID-19 core symptoms or who are a confirmed case of COVID-19 must isolate.
  3. Operators participating in the REP should clearly communicate to the public/clients/staff that they are participating in the program and the requirements to enter/receive services.
  4. Screen for: 
    1. Verification of one of the following:
      1. Proof of vaccination; 
      2. Proof of a negative test result from a sample that is taken within the prior 72 hours
      3. An original medical exception letter.
    2. AppArmour Completed with green self-assessment badge
    3. Valid ID
      1. For Burman students/employees
        1. Burman ID card or Government issued ID - for proof of identity.
        2. Burman ID card or Government issued ID and Rapid test card - for proof of negative test results. (from the last 72 hours)
      2. Other participants - will need to show a government issued identification (includes name and birthdate) and proof of documentation for either vaccination or negative rapid test at the screening site. 
  5. When the above has been completed, all participants will not be required to social distance within the designated space but will be required to wear a mask. 

 

PROGRAM PLANNERS/SPONSORS

In order to participate in the REP program, the following steps will need to be taken:

  1. Register your event/activity with the Student Services Office. Your plan must include the REP protocol details noted above.
    1. Complete this linked form
  2. Wait for approval of event/activity
  3. Review regular Campus Policy regarding events etc, as they still apply.

 

NOTE: Spiritual Life programming can be eligible for an REP if approved by the Campus Chaplain first. Otherwise spiritual life programming follows other sector-based restrictions (ie. 1/3 capacity, social distancing)
