LACOMBE, AB – On April 27, 2018, the Burman University Board of Trustees took the following action:

39-17/18 – VOTED to create a committee to review the feasibility of a merger between College Heights Christian School (CHCS) and Parkview Adventist Academy (PAA) with a report given to the Burman Board of Trustees by the fall 2018 board meeting

A committee has been created with representation from Burman University, Parkview Adventist Academy (PAA), the Alberta Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and College Heights Christian School (CHCS). The committee is currently seeking input from all concerned stakeholders. They will hold town hall meetings to share information with attendees, glean perspectives from parents and alumni, and answer questions.

They are currently looking to host the following town hall meetings:

  • Town Hall Meeting with PAA Students – The committee will meet with current students of PAA on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11:10 AM at the Burman University Administration Building Auditorium.
  • Town Hall Meeting with PAA Parents – Parents of students at PAA are invited to join the committee on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Burman University Administration Building Auditorium. All parents of current and/or potential students are welcome. If parents are unable to attend this session, they are welcome to attend the next session.
  • Town Hall Meeting with PAA Alumni – All alumni of Parkview Adventist Academy are invited to join the committee on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Burman University Administration Building Auditorium.

The committee will make its recommendation to the Burman University Board of Trustees and the Alberta Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church at the fall 2018 Burman Board of Trustees meeting. The input gathered from these town hall meetings will help inform the committee’s recommendations.
