Richard and Irma Kutzner Entrance Bursaries

Amounts: $6000, or up to $8000*

*These awards are a combination of three one-time scholarships worth $6000 each and one renewable scholarship worth $2000 per year, based on the length of an awardees initial degree program.
Requirements:
- Provide a student loan Notice of Assessment (also called an Award Letter) to Student Financial Services (scholarships@burmanu.ca) by the deadline.
- Apply for and receive a Canadian government student loan of at least $8,500 or a U.S. government direct subsidized Loan equal to the annual maximum.
- Have initial admission into Burman University as a first year, first time student.
- Complete the application and submit a short written response.
- The award is applied in a 50/50 split between the Fall and Winter terms. A student must complete a minimum 12 credits each term in order to receive the full value of the award.
Selection:
- Recipients are chosen anonymously by the donors based on what is in the applicant's short written response.
- The chosen recipient will be notified by August 15.
Renewability criteria (only applies to the renewable award):
- Meet the minimum credit requirement of 12 each semester.
- Maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA.
- Continuing to demonstrate financial need through the reception of a student loan each year that meets the minimum requirements as outlined above.
