The Lily Quartet is an innovative, professional string quartet formed and based out of Calgary. This year the ensemble is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special musical project titled “Four Strong Winds”. The Four Strong Winds are represented by composers from four cities in Alberta as well as the four women in their quartet. An evening of great Canadian quartet music!

With the Masmoudi Quartette of oud, clarinet, double bass and piano, Western and Middle Eastern cultures meet in a rather extraordinary way! Jazz is infused with a rich interplay of Western and Middle Eastern instrumentation to create a tapestry of sound that is familiar and unexpected at the same time. You’ll be intrigued and mesmerized by a mosaic of classical, jazz, and world music quite unlike any other.

It features a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire, as well as a baroque violinist, medieval fiddler, and vocalist.

The Mathieu & Chua Duo of violin and piano celebrates the universal language of movement and music with “An Invitation to the Dance!”, a spirited journey through rhythm and romance from South America,Canada, and Europe. Featuring the timeless sonatas of Corelli and Mozart, fiery Hungarian dances of Brahms, and other music that transcends time and place.
