Sunday at 4 is an eclectic professional concert series, bringing renowned national and international classical and folk/world musicians to Burman.
EMSEMBLE PHOENIX MUNICH (EPM)

The early music ensemble EPM was founded in Munich, Germany, by Joel Frederickson. EPM programs a wide range of music from the European Renaissance and Baroque (c1500-1650) to Early America (c1640-1860) and has also commissioned new works from contemporary composers. Since 2007, the group has presented a concert series in Munich at the Bavarian National Museum and performed at leading international festivals. EPM recorded four successful CDs with harmonia mundi France and now records for SONY/DHM.

A Wisconsin native, soprano Helen Hassinger’s voice and performances have been described as having “rich sostenuto and remarkable command”. (The Boston Musical Intelligencer) She has appeared in solo concerts and many operatic roles, garnering enthusiastic reviews. Praised as “one of Canada’s most gifted musicians” (Saugeen Times), Matthew Whitfield is an organist, pianist, harpsichordist, and conductor who specializes in giving eclectic and exciting performances. Formerly Organist and Director of Music at St. Thomas's Huron Street, Toronto, he is currently Marketing & Community Connections Coordinator at Red Deer Symphony Orchestra.

DUO MAJOYA: PIANO & ORGAN

Duo Majoya is an outstanding and highly-acclaimed Canadian organ-piano duo. The duo has premiered many new works for organ and piano duo, in addition to solo works, and engages with technical bravura and enthusiasm in all their performances. Organist Marnie Giesbrecht has been praised for her keyboard artistry. She is Professor Emerita at the University of Alberta, and has performed in Canada, the United States, Europe, South Africa and Asia. Pianist Joachim Segger is a versatile keyboard artist with an active career performing piano, duo, and chamber music. He is a Chair and Professor of Music at The King’s University in Edmonton.
